🕳️ Endless Vertebra

Technique & Material: Nomad, Blender

"Endless Vertebra" combines the imagery of birds and a vertebra to symbolise the birds' pursuit of freedom, while also revealing the conflict between modern women’s desire to break free and the constraints imposed by family structures. This artwork uses a colour palette reminiscent of flames to convey a sense of passion and courage in the pursuit of freedom—an intensity tempered by rationality.

The birds represent women's longing for freedom, yet their feet are tightly bound by the vertebra, which symbolises the family—a seemingly warm but often confining cage that restricts their ability to soar. Presented in the form of a trophy, this sculpture implies that women’s roles within the family are often fixed and constrained, reflecting the challenges they face in seeking true freedom and respect.

Although the birds flap their wings, they can never truly escape the symbolic shackles of the family. This project explores the struggles of women in the modern era, conveying their deep yearning for freedom and a better future.

Across endless lands I freely roam,
Where bones lie bare, forgotten, alone.
The ties of the world have turned to dust,
Only freedom now I trust.
