🕳️ Perfect World ID Card

"Perfect World ID Card" focuses on people's appearance anxiety and desire to show the perfect look on social media. The project interprets the uniqueness of facial features from the perspective of traditional Chinese physiognomy, and explores the pursuit of similarities in appearance on social media. 

This project through a five-part interactive process, the convergence of the "Perfect Look" is combined with its unique “Wuxing Attributes" to finally create an ID document into the perfect virtual world. (Wuxing is a fivefold conceptual scheme that many traditional Chinese fields used to explain a wide array of phenomena. ) Convergence and uniqueness are contradictory and combined, aiming to lead us to rethink how to maintain individuality in the future virtual world and show a deeper self? And how to maintain the diversity of the virtual network world?

The topic of appearance anxiety has been widely discussed in recent years. Among them, women have more severe appearance anxiety than men. The main reason is that social aesthetic standards lead to people’s attention and anxiety about appearance on social platforms. What we show on social networks is the fake appearance after adjustment and beautification.

In traditional Chinese physiognomy, the human face is like an inscrutable collection of codes. Each person’s facial features are unique undecoded databases. 

Ancient Chinese philosophers took the Wuxing of metal, wood, water, fire and earth as the origin of all things in the world. The face is the same. Therefore, I divided the faces into five types according to the Wuxing, and made models for each type of facial feature. Each type of face corresponds to a keyword of facial feature, which is a password that represents its uniqueness.
